Mrs. McIntyre’s Classroom Expectations

1.       Respect your staff, classmates, and school.  In order to be respected, you must be respectful.  You have a beautiful facility here that should remain that way.  Be proud of your school along with everything and everyone that’s in it.

2.       Follow all the rules that are in your handbook. There are many rules that you must follow at Yale High school that all still apply in my classroom. Dress code will be enforced.

3.       Come to class on time. Standing outside the door and rushing in after the bell has begun to ring will constitute a tardy. You must be INSIDE the door when it begins ringing to be counted on time.

4.       Attend to personal needs before coming to class.

5.       Remain in your assigned seat unless you have permission to get up. Throw scraps away at the end of the period on your way out. I dismiss you – not the bell!

6.       Bring required materials every day unless you are otherwise directed.

Bathroom Passes

·         You have a very limited amount of time in the classroom, so it is your responsibility to use the restrooms during your assigned breaks.

·         If it is an emergency and you need to use the bathroom, you must have your planner so I can sign a pass to release you.

·         If you do not have your planner, I will release you, but you will be marked for not having a planner.  If that happens more than once,
          you will receive a detention.

·         If you have a medical condition and need to use the bathroom regularly during class, you must notify me or the office of that condition.

·         You must have your planner with you at all times to be released from class without penalty.

Electronic Devices
  • Electronic devices are not allowed to be used in Mrs. McIntyre's class unless specific permission has been given by Mrs. McIntyre.
  • Electronic devices include, but are not limited to: iPods, iPads, iPhones, Any cellular device, any tablet.

Plagiarism
  • There is zero tolerance for plagiarism in Mrs. McIntyre's classroom.  If a student is caught cheating or plagiarizing, then they will be given a zero on the assignment and issued a detention,
  • A plagiarism unit will be taught to the students and a plagiarism contract will be signed by both the student and the parent.  It will be made clear what constitutes plagiarism.

AAA Responsibilities

·         You are responsible for signing-up for AAA one complete day before the actual AAA day arrives.

·         You need to sign your first and last name.

·         Do not sign up friends; you must sign yourself up.

·         During AAA you must still follow all of my classroom expectations and bring materials to work on every time. If you do not come prepared
you will be issued a detention.

·         If this is a continual problem, you will not be allowed to sign-up for my AAA.

·         If you arrive late to my AAA, you will receive a writing assignment

Discipline Procedure

1st Offense: verbal warning

2nd Offense: 3 page writing assignment (front and back)

3rd Offense: detention, writing assignment, and a phone call home

4th Offense: principal’s office

·         Understand that a major violation or continual violations could result in the skipping of offenses resulting in automatic detention or removal from the classroom.

·         Failure to complete a writing assignment by the next class period will result in a detention.  It is your responsibility to make sure the writing assignment is turned into me.  It is not my responsibility to collect it from you.

Late Work

1.    You will have 1 week from the due date to turn in late work for any type of credit.

2.    The longer it is late, the lower the grade.  I may reserve the right to make exceptions to that rule if necessary.

3.    There will be no extra credit awarded to anyone with missing work.

4.    Every Wednesday, you will be shown your grade and you will have the opportunity to address missing work by Thursday.  If work is not turned in, then a Failure to Complete Homework form is sent home.  If Failure to Complete Homework forms are not returned on Friday, you will be issued a detention.

It is very important that you are demonstrating your responsibility as students, and that you are staying on top of your work.
