Marking Period 1 ~ Beowulf/Canterbury Tales, Persuasive Writing, Grammar, Reading Focus

We cover many topic in the first marking period. Our literature focus is on Beowulf and Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The focus in this marking period will be on moral codes of conduct and heroic elements. They will compare how these ideas are present in these literary pieces and how they are also present in our modern society.
Students will be working with grammar and applying it throughout the marking period.
Students will be working with technical reading, and applying to real-world situations, and focusing on comprehension.
Students will also be practicing their persuasive writing analysis techniques. This also aligns with the SAT essay format.
